Back to your roots!✿

Hi Dear Readers!

Oopsie, it happened… I am a day late with posting my blog entry of the week. My track record, I suppose is not the best to begin with, thinking back on the week I didn’t post at all. I apologize!✿ But if you are reading this, you may have been waiting for the post, and for that, thank you so much! And if not, still thank you for reading!

As you might know from my Instagram (@deardiaryofficiel, go follow!) this weekend I went back to my parents place. I had been quite stressed during the week as well as the week prior, so I was getting a bit overwhelmed about the trip, as it takes a while to get there, you know, travel time wise. But I’m so happy I went, because I got a breath of fresh air (also literally). For a bit of time I have been dealing with having no energy or motivation and just generally being unsure about my current situation. As you now from last week’s topics concerning, whether I should stay with my studies or not, were occupying my mind, and I was feeling lost.✿

You may not know this, but I grew up on a small island in the middle of nowhere in Denmark, undisturbed by the rush and noise found the big city. A thing I always experience when I visit my birthplace, is the feeling of peace. I feel like I get the space and calmness needed to be able to hear myself as well a getting a fresh perspective. And not to mention just a break from the rush of the city. I think that we as people very easily become stuck in the noise around us, which makes us unable to think and feel clearly. We drown in obligations; things we feel like we NEED to spend our time on, that we simply can’t say no to. It’s draining, really. When was the last time you listened to your own needs?✿

Now that became a bit more serious than topics covered in my previous posts, but nonetheless something I find extremely important to talk about, especially in present day society with FOMO(Fear Of Missing Out) and such.✿ On a lighter note, I’m happy to say that I’m finally coming out of the dark hole that I had found myself in for quite a while, something I am extremely thankful for. Of course it has taken a lot of hard work to get on the other side, so I am really proud of myself for putting in the work and not giving up. Have you remembered to praise yourself for overcoming hardships in your life?✿ Oh boy, this post has become quite heavy, but I hope that you will think about the questions I asked, as I believe you will benefit from them.

Lastly, it has now been a month since I started my blog, and goodness a lot has happened in this short time. I just want to thank all of you guys who read my posts and follow me on this journey. I really appreciate your support, and I hope you will continue to follow along in the future as well! Thank you from the bottom of my heart♥

Wish me luck for the week, as I have lots of preparation for university I need to take care of. On that note, I hope you will have an absolutely amazing week!✿

Love, Mie
